Senior Pastor Bishop JD McPherson
Bishop McPherson is the founding Pastor of the Oak Creek Worship Center. He resides in Dayton, Ohio with his wife of 40 years Kaye McPherson (Prosser). They have two daughters Deborah and Jennifer, and 6 grandchildren. Pastor McPherson has been preaching the gospel from the pulpit of Oak Creek for nearly 26 years. His ministerial career spans over the last 41 years. Some of his pastoral duties have included: The Church of God Orphanage in North Carolina, Minister of Music at the Princeton Pike Church of God in Hamilton Ohio, Associate Pastor at 4th Street Church of God in Dayton, Ohio, before landing at what he calls home, the Oak Creek Worship Center in 1985. Bishop McPherson has served on nearly every electable committee within the Church of God in Southern Ohio, including State Council, State Youth Board, State Music Board, State Evangelism Board. For 12 years McPherson had the opportunity to be the Minister Internship Program Director, a position he in which he takes great satifaction. Currently, he serves as the Disrict Overseer in Dayton, Ohio and the Chaplain for the Kettering Police Department. Those who attend Oak Creek know there isn't an instrument that he doesn't get along with. He has led Oak Creek in praise and worship from the piano bench since its inception. Pastor McPherson received his Masters of Science in Psychology from Wright State University in 1986, and his Bachelors of Science in Education from Lee University in 1972. |
